No mention of Trump,
I'm disappointed. The Times usually does a much better job of bias.
BTW, the word on the web, is that the guy shot in the head, was part of a crowd that wanted to burn a car dealership. Time will tell if that is the truth.

One charged. Let's see if it sticks.

Events that help precipitate all this.
From another board I frequent:
*Events leading to the shooting included a domestic abuse situation. The police used a taser twice but this guy did not obey numerous requests to give it up. When he went to his car (his kids were in the car), the police shot him for some reason. No news has been provided as to why. Honestly, multiple shots sound excessive, but until facts are provided, we won’t know why they shot.
I live around 40 miles of Kenosha and watching the news of the day, I would say that our governor (Tony the Tyrant Evers) has finally agreed to have Fed provide support from the national guard.
After the first night, there were no additional troops brought to the area and the “demonstrators” had their fun. After that, the Kenosha county board requested 750 National Guard to be enabled to help. Evers sent 125. The third night (Tuesday), the board requested 1500. Evers doubled by adding another 125. Today, Evers has agreed to send 500 NG people from Wisconsin and he bring Fed Natural Guard. Trump offered this after day 1.
In addition, Evers has been fanning the flames with his rhetoric until today. I truly think the democrats are starting to see what a bad impression this is bringing to the voters. And just now, I see that Biden has finally said something about law and order. The rats are scrambling tonight. I pray that when I look into the sapphire tinted skies tonight, I see the Northern Lights and not Kenosha.*

I heard Tony Evers on PBs today blaming Republicans for not acting and letting it get to this level. Not sure how he gets there when he is the governor. Wisconsin's legislature is GOp majority, but isn't this sort of thing an executive issue? No mention of Trump.

What?
Minneapolis, Portland, Chicago....
And it's the GOP's fault? What action, specifically did the governor expect from a political party?
OK, then.

In Jolly's post, quoting the source:
"I live around 40 miles of Kenosha and watching the news of the day, I would say that our governor (Tony the Tyrant Evers) has finally agreed to have Fed provide support from the national guard."I'm missing something. The Governor can activate the Guard within the state for a needed purpose. Right?
So where does the fed enter into all this? I thought the President could not activate the National Guard into any State without Congressional approval, although I think there has been precedent in the past for not waiting for congress.
Somewhere I'm messed up. Maybe Jolly or some others can clarify, so I don't need to spend time on Google trying to piece together what is internal state responsibility, or when the feds (Trump) can enter in if requested, or when the feds (Trump) can override everything and send in the National Guard from the state or neighboring states.

The Kenosha City Council had requested the Guard. Trump offered the Guard (I assume by Federalizing them and picking up the tab). The governor did not send anywhere near what was requested.

Waiting for more information on this, but I read one report that Kenosha police released the shoter because they felt it was self-defense, and he was arrested by Illinois police.
No opinion here, just posting what I read - I forgot where.

There is unconfirmed stuff floating around that the first guy killed, was in the process of trying to bash the shooter with a skateboard, after the shooter had dodged a Molotov cocktail. The second person that died was trying to take the shooter's rifle away, when the shooter was trying to avoid the crowd and tripped. He shot the guy while lying on the ground.

OK. Not confusing at all.
It took 3 months to release the autopsy for George Floyd. Turns out he would have died anyway from an overdose. This particular incident should be cleared up by the media within hours if not just a few days.
