He was a founder of the Islamophobic English Defence League and a former member of the British National Party and various other groups with fascist or white nationalist links.

In between assaulting police officers, attacking people in his own group, trying to use a fake passport, committing mortgage fraud, you mean?
Also, he lied about the name of the person who killed those children in Southport, and falsely accused others of being Islamic extremists.
Tommy Robinson isn't even his real name. The real Robinson was a member of a group of football hooligans. He has also used the names Andrew McMaster, Paul Harris, Wayne King,and Stephen Lennon.
So no, he's clearly frequently not telling the truth.
And there is no "maybe" about him being a thug. It's well documented. Even Nigel Farage used the term to describe him.
People apparently trying to legitimise this racist piece of shit really pisses me off.
