If you see a strange error when accessing TNCR...
-
In a few days, starting on 2024-09-01, you may get an error about an invalid certificate when accessing TNCR.
If that is the case, depending on your browser you may or may not have the option to ignore the invalid certificate. If so, please do.
I'm still trying to prevent that situation, but it's pretty fvcked up.
There's a problem with our old domain name provider, godaddy, and I have ordered a transfer to a new domain provider, netcup. Once the transfer is done, I can do the certificate renewal. However, that transfer is very very slow; I'm waiting for it for 14 days already. I don't know how to do the renewal using godaddy since it doesn't interoperate with the tech we are using anymore ("cloudron" - this is the reason why I'm transferring the domain name to netcup). @Axtremus if you have any ideas please let me know.

Thanks, Klaus. All I was getting was a too many redirects message.
I got the same thing

Yeah, that error was a small fvckup of mine, but I managed to fix this.
I think I managed to make the workaround from above work, so we should be safe for the time being.
If anyone wants to know (but why would you?), the "Not valid after" part is what this was about. Very strangely, Chrome and Brave show a "Not Valid After" date that is in the past but that seems to be a known bug.

Interesting. I have this bookmarked:
https://nodebb.the-new-coffee-room.club/category/2/general-discussion
When I tried accessing it this AM, I got the same error message.
But this:
https://nodebb.the-new-coffee-room.club
Was fine - and it had the "General Discussion" link.
However, link #1 worked fine on my iPhone and iPad.
I pasted #1 into another browser (DuckDuckGo) and it worked.
Emptying the cache in Safari fixed things.

One minor change: You can now also access the TNCR via https://the-new-coffee-room.club
