Wasn’t this quite common in older civilizations?
I know, I know they’re all extinct now, I’m sure that’s why

I was listening to a progressing podcast a while ago.
They talked about how it was problematic that the gay rights position was “I was born this way”.

I’ve always argued that as well. First, it’s limiting to your mind, soul, and consciousness to ascribe your very identity to genetics. Your choices should always define you. You may have certain tendencies, but it’s your decisions that make you who you are, and most of the tendencies are learned, not innate.. Second, Genetics themselves do not ascribe morality or worth. If there is a gay gene, so what? There’s also a Down Syndrome gene.
Saying “I was born this way” is almost like apologizing for it… “Oh, I would be straight if I had a choice, but I was born this way…” Almost like a physical handicap. Like being born blind, except he likes to be the bottom…

As best as I can understand, the sexual attraction can be hetero or homo, depending upon the life stage. I/O, but nothing in between?
