Boris tends to be pretty quiet - an occasional chirp, and I think I've only heard him "meow" twice. Maine coons are like that.

Maggie, otoh, is a loudmouth. and she definitely has different sounds for different situations.

Ours are pretty quiet most of the time, but the range of sounds and meows is pretty wide, like the very specific victory growl when Luna has caught something.

Maggie is strange. Totally fearful and not to be found if there's anyone else in the house.

But, she likes to spend her time on the tower in the living room. If I leave and go into the master bedroom, she hops off, follows me, meowing all the way. She jumps onto the bed, and flops down onto her side, giving a combination meow/purr - "Pet me!"

        Of course, I do.

Our little girl cat would chirp to the birds she’d see outside the window. Very chatty with them.

By the way, Meatball wishes to give Boris a belated HBD:

My daughter's cat does that. Almost a click.
