Larry famously called the bottom by telling everyone to sell all their stocks - literally within days of the century’s low point.
It's funny, pretty much the only advice ever given to me by a bank manager was to basically do exactly the opposite of what you feel like you should do when buying stocks. He said so many people buy high and sell low it's ridiculous.
