My wife fondly remembers Miss Georgie. The old man was a cutter, but Miss Georgie was the epitome of Southern Grace. Whenever they came in for their eye appointments, she made sure that she brought a couple of fresh pies. And Miss Georgie made Mr. Lea pack them. The world could go to hell, but when those pies came through the door, the office shut down for 15 minutes while the staff wolfed down a slice of pecan or coconut creme pie, washing it down with a cup of

After I-49 opened, the Lunchroom is no longer on the main road. Things are slower, but they still sell a lot of pies. I reckon they do 1000 or more, each month from November to January 1.
