Local school board received some kind of a grant that allowed them to receive 16 EV school buses and 16 charging stations. They placed eight at one school and eight at another. One of the schools is in my community.

Each bus was assigned a driver. Four of these drivers in my community have quit their jobs. One reason...

Each bus must have its batteries topped off each evening after use. The drivers are responsible for this. They have been told that the batteries must cool down a bit before charging. That short wait, coupled with the time it takes to charge the bus, means that the EV drivers will be getting off later than regular bus drivers.

    The salary is the same.

Dumb by the school board. With more than eight busses, I would think that the school would be big enough that there is already a 2nd shift janitor(s) there. They should use him. I don't blame the bus drivers.

As of today...School starts tomorrow. Three of the eight buses are broke.
