Tuner Cleaner?

I have a set of Klipsch speakers at my desk. I love the sound they give me. I've had them for more than 10 years.
However, I noticed the volume knob is giving static-ey sounds when I turn it up. I assume this is gunk accumulation on the contacts.
Would this be a cheap first step to getting it fixed?

In my experience, these sprays often work for a short amount of time and then the problem is back.
If you know how to operate a soldering iron, the "clean" solution is to install new potentiometers. You need new ones in the right size, with the correct resistance and the correct profile (linear or log). They are usually not hard to get.

It's probably easier to just get new speakers, LOL.

Oh, somehow I conjured big speakers worth thousands of dollars when I read "Klipsch". I also thought you were talking about the volume controls for midrange drivers or tweeters that some high end speakers have.
Coincidentally, I bought a new pair of (used) speakers just yesterday, and of course I wanted to test them right away.
Times have changed. When I was a kid, my parents always complained about the music being too loud. These days, my kids complain to my that the music is too loud. Listening to loud music on high end equipment is definitely a thing of the past.
