The fun never sets!

Our present (2006) pantry setup has a 72” high single cupboard with one middle stationary shelf and the rest sliders. I really like the sliders for pasta, cereals, packaged stuff. I sure hope the sliders in my new pantry cupboard are made more sturdy because I always defaulted to putting the cans on that middle stationary shelf. It was the weight of multiple cans that made me nervous.

It’s those bulging cans of tomato sauce that scare me. I’ve a “special” tub of mugs I’ll regift back to my kid hahaha.
Years ago, my spouse just put the first cut in the top of a can of tomato paste. It was explosive with tomato paste all over the kitchen - every cabinet, windows, ceiling - all over each of us. It was amazing how much devestation from such a small incision.

I rather like your tiled backsplash too. Classy!
I’ve an appointment in 2 weeks with a designer lady. My anxiety of the kitchen is high. I don’t do well with creative types. I know it’ll be quartz; I want a quartz backsplash too so I won’t stress over tile. I don’t want white/cream MDF on bottom cabinets, and I’m still recovering from yellowed honey-oak and oranged red-oak from the 90’s. I guess I’ll have to see my options and how expensive stained wood is. I might go rogue and ditch the shaker cabinets for something flat and modern. I really hate cleaning those crevices. -

I’d stay away from MDF too. Wood stains are coming back and there are some gorgeous ones, but pricey. You might consider colors - we only went with the gray bottoms because it worked well with the backsplash and it shows the wood grain. We will add color with wallpaper on the walls and tray ceilings -,probably a blue faux grass cloth.
