    Never could do that. Perhaps it's because my vocal range is about an octave and a half.

    I'm in awe of people who can "just do it." Carol Burnett was one of the greats at doing that. Just came naturally.

      Let’s see … can we blame this on budget cuts that curtailed many music programs in K-12 public schools?

        Probably not, since many people who could sing harmony never made it past the sixth grade.

            Hmmm ... you may be on to something.
            More people make it past the sixth grade --> more people cannot sing harmony.
            Maybe it's "too much education" that atrophied the population's harmony singing abilities. 🤔
