Vivian Jenna Wilson, the transgender daughter of Elon Musk, said Thursday in her first interview that he was an absent father who was cruel to her as a child for being queer and feminine.
Wilson, 20, in an exclusive interview with NBC News, responded to comments Musk made Monday about her and her transgender identity. On social media and in an interview posted online, Musk said she was “not a girl” and was figuratively “dead,” and he alleged that he had been “tricked” into authorizing trans-related medical treatment for her when she was 16.
Wilson said that Musk hadn’t been tricked and that, after initially having hesitated, he knew what he was doing when he agreed to her treatment, which required consent from her parents.

I'm not sure I'd talk about my kids in public like this. He/she is only 20.
I think this is all in context of what he’s doing. He doesn’t feel that he can adequately explain his complete 180 turn in direction over the last 4 years without telling this story. It seems likely that this played a part in the purchase of Twitter as well as the move from California and such. He honestly feels like he has lost his son, feels like he was lied to by the doctors and more.

I think this is all in context of what he’s doing. He doesn’t feel that he can adequately explain his complete 180 turn in direction over the last 4 years without telling this story. It seems likely that this played a part in the purchase of Twitter as well as the move from California and such. He honestly feels like he has lost his son, feels like he was lied to by the doctors and more.
Obviously, we can't know the full story here, but this really shouldn't be primarily about him and how he feels. It feels like he's throwing his son/daughter under the bus. He's supposed to be the adult here. And his child isn't dead. That's a fucking terrible thing to say about them.
Yes, clearly there's a ton of stuff going on here, and more than one person may have made a really bad mistake. But doesn't a parent have a responsibility to look after their kids above all else even when they fuck up?

I’m not going to disagree with that, but the child does need to accept the support.
In this case, it’s obvious that Elon has had a significant shift in views and beliefs over the last 5 years or so, and a shift that is impacting his charitable and his political spending in large ways that is attracting much media attention. It’s only appropriate for him to be able to tell his side of the story as well, especially when all of this ultimately affects 3 public companies….
