    I enjoyed my one trip to the EAA in 1997. Though I'm not a pilot, it was awesome to watch the shows and see the aircraft.

    Today, EAA does not disappoint.

      Back in the day I was offered transportation and lodging. I never took it.

      The show would be nice, but the crowd is too much.

        Yeah.

        I don't own (or rent) an aircraft.

        I have no license.

        One had to weigh the "cool" factor against the really overwhelming "geek" factor.

        I found it intimidating, in a way, as an outsider.
