Good candidate, bad campaign.

Steve Garvey. Even in a 60/40 state, he's pulled in more money than Schiff in the last 90 days cycle.
Advantage? Star power (he's a household name),not horrible funding and a general unease among the California voters at the status quo.
Disadvantage? Neophyte campaigner. His party's state organization is a dumpster fire, with NO ground game in parts of the state. Plus, Schiff is not loved by many of the people who will probably vote for him. But vote for Schiff they will.
Garvey won't win. But he might come within 5-7 points, in a state he should lose by 15 or more.
