It was a different convention. And Hogan was followed later by Kid Rock rapping and rocking the house. The delegates had fun. Harold Ford said he'd been to 15 conventions and this was the best.

If you listen to all the screaming from the audience, likely most of the convention attendees think it's a good idea.

It's a new Republican thing, you will probably never understand.

Who had Kid Rock, Hulk Hogan, and a mention of Hannibal Lecter at the RNC convention on their bingo card?

Yes, that was excellent. Kid Rock meets The Golden Girls.

From a summary of the convention.

The speeches were a mixed bag, as they always are. But nearly all of them stuck to the script and stayed with the plan. The one major exception—other than Trump himself—was Peter Navarro, who came straight from prison to smash through his allotted time and deliver a mesmerizing diatribe. If you closed your eyes you could imagine him, over-tanned and shirtless, following you across a trailer park, a near-empty can of Schaefer in one hand and a cigarette in the other, as he complains about his parole officer with such passionate intensity he neither realizes nor cares that he’s following you into the Port-a-John.

The imagery is brilliant. You can see the sweat dripping off his brow as he puffs at that cigarette.

It’s retro, period-appropriate. The poster had to loop video clips multiple times to try to achieve the “cringe” effect. This is manufactured “cringe.”
