I think the main reason is that the average US person who the convention was directly at - that is just not a high priority.

The Democrats wanted to get though the convention without making any major mistakes, making undecided voters mad at them, etc. I believe that they did not think there was any major benefit to bring it up. Typical politics.

Trump's speech to a business group yesterday or the day before addressed all those issues and more. It was a tour de force into issues a president really should be addressing, including China which was completely ignored at the DNC.

If he continues on this path he will be reelected. And should be.

I think there is little motivation to play to the base this year.

I just saw a story that said Mr. Trump's impeachment wasn't mentioned at the DNC convention

I have no way of verifying that

But didn't his impeachment used to be a big deal?

Don't forget Russia and the myriad other 'Oh, we've got him NOW' ploys. Could it be they want to forget their failings?

I cannot help but wonder where we would be as a nation had they ever given the guy a chance.

I didn’t see it but I’m sure he said/meant the main source of our outbreak was travelers from Europe. He’s not positing that as the actual origin of the virus. Anymore than when the FL governor said his outbreak came mainly from NY.
