Yep. There's much to be said for both sides here. In the oncology case he mentions, the physician may be feeding ELIMU, which is an experimental system to counter unpleasant side effects that come with cancer treatments, and there are a lot. It could help. But if that is the case that should be explained as to why I am terminally ill and the doctor is collecting so much information that seems useless to me.

Not enough time. You don't have the luxury of typing for 10 minutes after the patient leaves the room to compose your note. If you're seeing 10 patients before lunch...

90% of physicians notes contain lies

Mrs. George's ER notes comment on her eye exam. It was not done.

        See fewer patients.

That’s the solution. If your clinic is so busy you can’t be present, see fewer patients. Open another day of clinic. Or, refer to a colleague.

Very easily said. How much do you want your income to fall? Do you want the owner of your business (because, guess what, you're not it) to penalize you for underperforming and not "clearing" enough "clients?"

As a side note, Mrs. George sees an ENT doc. I've known Sam for decades, and he's a good, basic ENT who knows what he doesn't know. During the examination and conversation, he talks to his scribe.

The saying, "Lite is just one damn thing after another," is a gross understatement. The damn things overlap.

Depends on what the healthcare provider is typing. I had an experience with a healthcare provider typing notes of salient points that he wants to share with another healthcare provider he is referring. I appreciate knowing what's going to be in the referral letter.

Just like I don't have problems with physicians taking notes with pen/paper while with a patient, I have no problem if the same notes are taken with a computer instead.

Yeah, I guess this is just the 21st century version of paper note taking during meetings.

I usually do paper notes, but if it is a meeting where it looks disrespectful to take notes, I do "talk to text" right after the meeting. But I agree with Georges point - many doctors will not have time right after a patient because the next one is already there.
