I know that this is for fun and bragging rights, but how can you prove it.
There was a controversy on a rowing forum board a while back about a guy that was doing some very very high end time/distance. Not outrageous, but very very good. Turns out he was able to "hack" the "unbreakable" rowing computer to allow him to get rest stops during his courses, etc.
(BTW, that is crazy fast. @jolly were you the one that posted about the single guy mentioned in the article that did it a couple of months ago? That is really impressive for a single person to do it. With two people, you can at least get "some" rest).
(PPS Seems like it would kind of fun to try, but I am too much of a wimp and probably too scared to hit someone. When I was in Europe driving (in Italy), it is amazing how fast people come up behind you. You look in your rear mirror - nobody there. No time later, someone zooms by you who you never saw. All is it would take is someone switching lanes way in front of you and BOOM)

My son took my SIL for a ride in Bad Kitty a couple of weeks ago. He cranked it up to 130mph, before he let up and slowed down. Top speed on the car is supposedly 202mph, but he's only had her up to 170 on the track.

They should be arrested. i don't care how little traffic there was, they were still a hazard.
With all the actual races available, they choose to do this. Assholes.

I suspect that in any urban or semi-urban area, they weren't going that fast. There are looong stretches out west where there isn't a ton of traffic...

There's a reason that proper racing and rally drivers have to abide by a ton of rules and take additional tests.
Assholes.
