    SCOTUS has spoken...

“Cry havoc and let slip the DOGE of war!”

Those who cheered as J-6 American prisoners were locked in solitary for 18 months without trial, now suddenly fight tooth and nail for foreign terrorists’ "due process". — Buck Sexton

You don't like cities to be able to make laws against camping on public property?

        Education is extremely important.

After spending a couple of weeks in Los Angeles each of the past two years, I can see the reason for it. Last year was much better, but two years ago, it was crazy. So many tents and other semi-permanent things on sidewalks that it was impossible to use them.

I was forced to walk out into a busy street, which wasn't a very good option. And some of these were in front of businesses, and I am sure that their business was quite reduced just because of the hassle to access.

I dont know what the solution is to homeless.. I would break it down into three categories

          1. People who just fell on hard times and for sure do not want to be homeless and definitely would benefit from some sort of assistance to get them going again.
          2. People with addition problems (alcohol or drugs) who with the right treatment could be turned around
          3. People with alcohol/drugs/mental problems who dont want to be helped or cant be helped.

I don't know what it's going to take for us to admit our illegal drug and mental health problems are intertwined and require some serious intervention.

                  https://www.nytimes.com/2024/07/25/us/newsom-homeless-california.html

Gov. Gavin Newsom ordered California state officials on Thursday to begin dismantling thousands of homeless encampments, the nation’s most sweeping response to a recent Supreme Court ruling that gave governments greater authority to remove homeless people from their streets.

More than in any other state, homeless encampments have been a wrenching issue in California, where housing costs are among the nation’s highest, complicating the many other factors that contribute to homelessness. An estimated 180,000 people were homeless last year in California, and most of them were unsheltered. Unlike New York City, most jurisdictions in California do not guarantee a right to housing.

                  and

In San Francisco, Mayor London Breed, a Democrat, said last week that city officials planned to become “very aggressive and assertive in moving encampments” starting next month and might start citing homeless people who refused offers of shelter. The Republican mayor of Lancaster, Calif., said after the ruling that his community was eager to get moving. “I’m warming up the bulldozer,” Mayor R. Rex Parris said.

"A cynic is someone who, when he smells flowers, looks for a funeral."

Now, ask yourself why the mayor of SF and Governor Hair Gel are doing this.

Could it be that they're trying to position themselves as the "Bad Cop" for the VEEP nomination?

The saying, "Lite is just one damn thing after another," is a gross understatement. The damn things overlap.

Could be though I have not heard his name on short lists. Maybe he realized this is why and is cleaning up the state’s image for 2028.

The Democratic Party Platform has many paragraphs talking about mental health and substance abuse together: https://democrats.org/wp-content/uploads/2020/08/2020-Democratic-Party-Platform.pdf

The Republican Party Platform has no such awareness: https://prod-static.gop.com/media/RNC2024-Platform.pdf

                        You should vote Democratic.
