Bob McCartney’s been a videographer with the Steelers for over 50 years. The first game he filmed, he captured this (start at 49 second mark)

Not bad for the first week at a new job, eh?

He just received an Award for Excellence from the Hall

        Well deserved.

The thing is, he’s not getting the award for that, but for 50 years worth of work since. He’s been the director of all the Steelers videography for 30 years and has done an amazingly job, helping to define the modern camera placement for TV broadcasts, the All-22 Coaches Tape, and more. But, it started as an extra 5 cameramen needed for the Wild Card Game. So he came in for a one game gig and just happened to catch a pivotal part of one of the most controversial plays of all time… That brought him back the next year, and the rest is history.
