Proud Day - Day 23 A debate…
-
So, I’ve been debating this one in my own head for several weeks. In the end, I figured I would toss it out here and see:
- if anybody besides Copper and Jolly was actually reading these
And
- actually get your opinions to the question
Was Ed Gein trans? This subject is EXTREMELY buried. There are very little conversations on the subject, but little hints…
I mean, he wanted to make a suit out of his mother’s skin and live as her. I mean, if that’s not cross-dressing, what is?
He was the root of the Trans serial killer trope. He was the inspiration for Norman Bates in Psycho AND Wild Bill in Silence of the Lamb.
So what do you guys think? Yes or no?

No opinion on that guy. I hadn’t heard of him.
Ed Gein was the inspiration for Norman Bates, iirc.

Gein's story has had a lasting effect on American popular culture as evidenced by its numerous appearances in film, music, and literature. The tale first came to widespread public attention in the fictionalized version presented by Robert Bloch in his 1959 suspense novel Psycho. In addition to Alfred Hitchcock's 1960 film of Bloch's novel, Psycho,[91] Gein's story was loosely adapted into numerous films, including Deranged (1974),[91] In the Light of the Moon (2000) (released in the United States and Australia as Ed Gein (2001)), Ed Gein: The Butcher of Plainfield (2007), Ed Gein, the Musical (2010), and the Rob Zombie films House of 1000 Corpses and its sequel, The Devil's Rejects. Gein served as the inspiration for myriad fictional serial killers, most notably Norman Bates (Psycho), Leatherface (The Texas Chain Saw Massacre),[91] Buffalo Bill (The Silence of the Lambs)[91] Garland Greene (Con Air) and the character Dr. Oliver Thredson in the TV series American Horror Story: Asylum.[92]

Here’s a good account: https://www.nzherald.co.nz/world/who-was-the-mother-of-the-most-depraved-serial-killer-of-all-time/T75XZ2O7K7AGAP5LBGPKDKHVV4/
I’ve seen multiple mentions elsewhere of his mother dressing him as a girl and suggestions from psychologists that he doubted his gender.

Didn’t Peterson point out the Narcissistic and overbearing mothers and the cause/effect relationship especially with trans?
-
And some have diagnosed Gein with a type of Autism…

TNCR is a place to throw one's opinions out into the ether, but an expectation for interesting conversation about those opinions will probably be disappointed.
