Heard a fascinating story about cops' behavior during interrogation of a suspect. A lawyer tells this story.

Suspect was being interrogated, the the police aren't getting anywhere in the questioning. Finally, out of desperation, the cop says, "OK, listen. I'm going to step out of the room for a minute and turn off the cameras and recording. That way you can tell me what REALLY happened and there won't be any record." The suspect agreed.

So, the cop leaves the room, waits outside in the hall for about 45 seconds and DOES NOT turn off the cameras and recording. During the time the cop is out of the room, the suspect bangs his face against the desk, REALLY bangs it, causing a laceration and bruising on his face.

When the cop returns to the room, the suspect says, "How you gonna explain THIS (points to face) happening when the cameras were off."

I have no idea how it all ended, but the suspect was savvy enough to not trust the cop's word that the cameras were off.

The saying, "Lite is just one damn thing after another," is a gross understatement. The damn things overlap.
