    Assaulting a police officer.

    Lock him up, put him solitary.

                      Spokane Police Officers responded to the intersection of Howard Street and Spokane Falls Boulevard on a report of a vandalism incident. 911 received a complaint advising multiple subjects on scooters were causing damage to the newly painted Pride mural. Four subjects were observed damaging the mural. Several witnesses observed the crime and one of the suspects yelled obscenities toward them before leaving the area.

                      Officers observed widespread damage as black scuff marks consistent with scooter wheels were observed across the entirety of the mural. The area is clearly marked to keep traffic away as it was just re-painted to repair previous damage.

                      Officers spoke with witnesses and obtained descriptions of the suspects. Video surveillance of the incident was utilized as well. Thirty-four minutes after the initial 911 call, officers located three suspects who matched witness descriptions and video surveillance and detained them in the area Washington and Spokane Falls Boulevard.

                      Ruslan V.V. Turko (19) was arrested and booked into the Spokane County Jail for 1st Degree Malicious Mischief. Two additional suspects (minors) were arrested and booked into the Spokane County Juvenile Detention Center for the same charge.

                      1st Degree Malicious Mischief:

                      Malicious mischief in the first degree.

                      (1) A person is guilty of malicious mischief in the first degree if he or she knowingly and maliciously:
                      (a) Causes physical damage to the property of another in an amount exceeding five thousand dollars;
                      (b) Causes an interruption or impairment of service rendered to the public by physically damaging or tampering with an emergency vehicle or property of the state, a political subdivision thereof, or a public utility or mode of public transportation, power, or communication;
                      (c) Causes an impairment of the safety, efficiency, or operation of an aircraft by physically damaging or tampering with the aircraft or aircraft equipment, fuel, lubricant, or parts; or
                      (d) Causes an interruption or impairment of service rendered to the public by, without lawful authority, physically damaging, destroying, or removing an official ballot deposit box or ballot drop box or, without lawful authority, damaging, destroying, removing, or tampering with the contents thereof.
                      (2) Malicious mischief in the first degree is a class B felony.

                          If they only had the forethought to also deface a veteran's memorial they could be back on the street right away.

                            There's clearly a lack of intelligent leadership within most of these protest groups. If the goal is to win support for a cause, everything one does that diminishes the rightness of one's cause, is counter productive.
