Did he deserve more?
Why?
Was he a good son? A good sibling? A good dad?
Did he mentor young people? Do volunteer work? Help feed the hungry?
Did he preach the Good News? Did he live a holy life? Did he love his fellow man?
Mr. Resident, I need help. Besides breathing and being an addict, what did this man do that made him deserve anything?
-
He was a man who sold cigarettes.
No different from any other man who sold for a living.
I sold for a living.
The cartoon on the locker room wall said "Selling is like shaving, you do it every day or you're a bum".
I think George would have liked that sign.

His physical appearance helped the movement. All of god's graces that he had, were towards his physicality. He was a tall, good looking man. Actually to be honest I don't think any of this happens if he's a 5'8" sunken chested wannabe gang banger. He's a loser that looks actually pretty darned good.

He inspired a civil rights movement? What rights have been added to the constitution? What rights are even being considered? I mean, we defunded a few police departments, but have quickly reversed course… What’s the big win for civil rights and BLM? Honestly curious.

He literally did. The effect of the movement is a different question.
It raises the question of whether the right-side-of-history folk were on the right side of any good history.

I agree with the above. He certainly didn't deserve to die like he did, but he basically wasn't a good member of society.

No, he didn’t. What happened to him was already illegal. He was the victim of a crime, the perpetrators were arrested, tried, and convicted. Where is the civil rights issue?
