His physical appearance helped the movement. All of god's graces that he had, were towards his physicality. He was a tall, good looking man. I agree with the above. He certainly didn't deserve to die like he did, but he basically wasn't a good member of society.

No, he didn’t. What happened to him was already illegal. He was the victim of a crime, the perpetrators were arrested, tried, and convicted. Where is the civil rights issue?
