If you don’t mind, I have a couple of questions for you about your perception of things in Israel.

Do you think Netanyahu really still doesn’t have a plan for post-war Gaza? Or is it more likely that he has a plan but revealing it would be hugely controversial at home and abroad?

Secondly, to what extent do people there talk about the misaligned incentives of Netanyahu, given that he is unlikely to survive politically once the war ends? IOW, are people at all concerned that he has personal reasons to extend the war beyond what is necessary, perhaps even indefinitely?

      1. he may have a plan in his own mind but is reluctant to lose the right wing part of his government if he voices it. so (again only thinking from his point of view) he would prefer to keep silent and kick the can down the road until a more oppurtune time presents itself, ie...deal with saudia arabia.

      2. EVERYONE (my caps) talks about bibi conflating personal political/legal issues with security concerns, some more than others, but by this point, even people in the likud are questioning his motives. so yes, people are mightily concerned.

Eliminating (is that even possible?) Hamas would be quite a legacy.

The only real threat of elimination comes if a competent alternative is put into place. Otherwise it’s just like fighting rats in a sewer, they will just keep on coming back.
