Well...Wonder what the pamphlet would say for Chicago? New Orleans? NYC?

“Cry havoc and let slip the DOGE of war!”

Those who cheered as J-6 American prisoners were locked in solitary for 18 months without trial, now suddenly fight tooth and nail for foreign terrorists’ "due process". — Buck Sexton

Granted, the magazine was from 7 years ago and they were forced to apologize.

I didn't notice the date - it wasn't in the original tweet, and I missed it in the article.

I wonder if London (or Chicago, Detroit, St. Louis) has gotten safer since then.

Comparing London to Chicago, Detroit and St. Louis is a bit much. London has a homicide rate of about 1.27 per 100,000. Chicago is 29.66, Detroit is 41, St. Louis is 87.

                I was only joking

Yeah, that's sort of my point. I wonder if China Air made similar warnings about these cities.

They said to avoid the parts mainly populated by Americans.

Not so much any more, but there was (and maybe still a bit) of ignorance about western culture and locations in Asian countries. A lot of it is not intentional, but just because of lack of exposure.

I think it is becoming better just because it is easier to get information today on other places. TV and movies were big ways people learned about the US.

Growing up, the best selling toothpaste in Taiwan was a brand called "Darkie" and it had a drawing of a black person on it with smiling white teeth. I had no idea it was rascist. It was just a brand. Just ignorant.

It is not unusual for Chinese tourists to be pretty culturally insensitive.
