The saying, "Lite is just one damn thing after another," is a gross understatement. The damn things overlap.

I don't think it's particularly far-fetched to suggest that there may be more to these protests than is being reported by either side.

      I was only joking

        Of course.

I long for the days when Scientific American was "science-ey."

I'm guessing not enough people want to read that stuff any more for them to stay in business.

Either that, or they've hired a bunch of media studies graduates.

          I was only joking

            Good point.

            Perhaps a better point, LOL.

Which would be worse, watching medical students rap or watching "artistic" types trying to use a mass spectrometer?

              I was only joking

Any damn fool can do mass spec. And computers do the analysis now.

                I vote for rap...πŸ˜›πŸ˜›

I think you may be underestimating the incompetence of humans. My brother is an engineer doing field service and repairs on mass-specs, and he has a few stories.
