Why does Mr. Mark J. Perry call out only the “black community” while the statistics for “Amer. Indian” is essentially the same in this regard?

        Good question.

Perhaps because the impact on society is larger?

Native American population is about 1.1% of the total US population.

I have no knowledge of the other factors, but do reservations, where I guess most Native Americans live, depend on State, Federal support?

Yes, see https://www.whitehouse.gov/briefing-room/statements-releases/2023/03/09/fact-sheet-president-bidens-budget-delivers-for-tribal-nations-and-tribal-communities/ where it calls out many millions and billions provided by the federal government to various programs that support Native Americans.

            @Axtremus

You have to live this side of the 49th to know that it is all about Natives.

Black folks don’t matter come on the radar screens here. They tried a couple of years back, but the Natives made certain the blip was downgraded to white noise.

            Elbows up!

                  Thank you.

Now, what is the proportion of governmental support to Native Americans vs the other populations in the graph?

IOW, considering that the number percentage of American Indian single mothers is the same as Black Americans, is the absolute number of dollars similar, per capita?

Don't know. Is this line of inquiry getting us any closer to explaining why Mark J. Perry called out only the "black community" but not the "Amer. Indian" community? What's your theory? 🤔

The US black population is 47.9 million

The US Indian population is 6.8 million.

                        Same percentage, 7X the population.

@copper is correct. Also, I think the US indians are much more isolated and less powerful in society than black people. Or least, they are less heard.

it's been suggested that thanks to the overturn of Row vs. Wade plus efforts to limit birth control, Republicans will help to increase both the percentage and volume of children born to single black and poor women. The folks that wrote Freakonomics (and others) would suggest that will result in increased crime and violent crime in particular.

Usually suggested by somebody with an agenda.

I worked in an indigent care system, in a poor state. IIRC, Louisiana ranks second among all states in the percentage of black citizens. Birth control was readily available through public health and the state hospital (gyn clinics).

But you can't make people take what they don't want.
