    Old-ish news, but this happened today.

      I doubt they will find the Russians a more suitable partner.

        Directly related to Sen. Tuberville blocking military appointments and other appointments last year. We did not have a liaison to West Africa when the coupe took place. The consequences are being seen now.

          We're pulling out of Chad, too.

          That's also Coach's fault?

            @Jolly

            Putin probably offers more attractive bribes to get his boys in the door and set up for the long term.

            Elbows up!

              Exactly. Russia has had its eyes on Africa since the 1950s, if not earlier.

                Lots of natural resources to be had relatively cheaply.

                  I am not sure if Chad us under the US West African Liason office of the Foreign Ministry.

                  But not having your top diplomats in place is a problem.

                  Africa is the next frontier for business and manufacturing. It is in the US interest to make sure there is a good foundation there.

                    Tuberville didn't have a hold on anything to do with diplomats.

                      This would never have happened under Trump. The shit-hole countries love him.

                      I was only joking

                          The same as every country, especially this one.

                            Russian technical assistance also includes stationing Wagner Group Mercenaries
                            Russian Foreign Legion troops to support the tin pot dictators and junta leaders in the unlikely event of an attempted counter insurgency or coup.
