Directly related to Sen. Tuberville blocking military appointments and other appointments last year. We did not have a liaison to West Africa when the coupe took place. The consequences are being seen now.

I am not sure if Chad us under the US West African Liason office of the Foreign Ministry.
But not having your top diplomats in place is a problem.
Africa is the next frontier for business and manufacturing. It is in the US interest to make sure there is a good foundation there.
