    Ukraine War consequences?

      Ojalá

      They’ll end up, after a lot of drama, with the same formula they use every time they have a trifecta: take away health care and food assistance from low income families and use the money to fund tax cuts for their donors.

          Wishful thinking?

          I wonder if there has been a semi-believable count of Russian casualties during this last misadventure.

          Afghanistan resulted in 15-26K killed. Surely the Ukrainian war is higher, much higher.

          How much longer the Russians keep it up will, I imagine, be dependent upon how long Putin can keep up a nationalistic fervor.

          The saying, "Lite is just one damn thing after another," is a gross understatement. The damn things overlap.

            @George-K

            I wonder if there has been a semi-believable count of Russian casualties during this last misadventure.

            BBC along with exiled independent Russian media group, Mediazone, put together a plausible estimate two weeks ago:

            https://www.bbc.com/news/world-68819853

            Or you can watch the report:

              I think what is very interesting is which Russians are dying.

                Diane Francis should stick to writing about Canadian economic and business topics.

                I know she is a huge fan of Ukraine and Zelenskyi, but she should avoid trying to parse out where Russia is at and heading. She’s been at it off and on since 1990 and has yet to get it.
