Current reporting is that the assassin wannabe intended to target Trump and his officials, and that he had an anti-Trump ideology. I don't know. I'll await further information before passing judgment. Seems just as likely that Erika Kirk was behind it, or the Trump administration itself is perpetrating yet another false flag. I'm in deep discussions with my friends on Bluesky about this - I will keep you all posted as the investigation yields more profound and shocking insights into this murky and incomprehensible situation.

That front page is actually the early Sunday edition, which is printed and distributed on Saturdays. So, the dinner/assassination had not even taken place.

It’s not obvious that the ballroom, if it existed, would have been used. The White House doesn’t host this. The president just goes.

I saw an interesting tidbit - the shooter never even got to the same floor as the president was on. He was stopped at the security checkpoint. So I’m not sure the people saying ‘security failed’ have a point.

Also it sort of dampens some of the silly conspiracy theories. Surely if you staged this you’d let the ‘shooter’ enter the room before being caught.
