Not saying it was wrong, but wow! a lot of shots fired. The "fog of war". I bet if that when the officers were asked how many times they fired, they will think they fired many shots less than actual.

You fire until it is certain the threat is neutralized. It’s not like on tv where you shoot someone and they always go down right away.

I agree. I just think it is interesting that in police shooting, there is a general perception of how many shots officers thought were fired vs. the reality of how many shots were fired.

(In the above situation, the officers were completely justified. My only worry was that the one officer was backing away firing while the other one was still standing right over the bad guy. I would be afraid of a richoshet.)

I’m in Seattle right now but I swear it wasn’t me.

They’ll end up, after a lot of drama, with the same formula they use every time they have a trifecta: take away health care and food assistance from low income families and use the money to fund tax cuts for their donors.

Of course not. We know you don’t have guns.

When you make the decision to shoot somebody...

                1. You get an adrenaline dump.
                2. You get target fixation and possibly tunnel vision. That gets some guys killed, because you forget to shoot and move or you forget to use available cover (there is a difference between cover and concealment). The bad guy has a gun, too.
                3. You shoot until the threat is not a threat. It is the rare bird indeed that can tell you exactly how many shots he fired, if he fires more than a couple. Your concentration is on front site/target. And if the guy doesn't go down on the first double-tap, crank some more into the torso or shoot him in the head (body armor decision).
                4. Afterwards, your motor skills turn to shit. Most guys hands and/or knees shake. You might not be able to dial your phone or even stand up. You might not even know you've been shot.

                Life ain't the movies.

“Cry havoc and let slip the DOGE of war!”

Those who cheered as J-6 American prisoners were locked in solitary for 18 months without trial, now suddenly fight tooth and nail for foreign terrorists’ "due process". — Buck Sexton

They probably just expended 1/4 the total Seattle police ammunition budget…

I want to hear the back story. What would make him believe two young girls would be receiving him in a hotel?
