The saying, "Lite is just one damn thing after another," is a gross understatement. The damn things overlap.

It's troubling to appropriate the word "systemic" like that. I prefer to reserve that word for racism.

Some people seem to be under the impression that grift and other abuses of power are accepted perks of political positions. I suppose to some extent, that's true. Just not to an absolute extent.

Common does not imply accepted. Discretion is required

How did she become a judge in the first place? I assume she would have received the appointment owing to years of experience as a barrister or courtroom litigator. That alone would enable her to comprehend the protocol of the courts.

                Perhaps the Kamala method?

I think we’re supposed to live in a world where POTUS can say clearly that he’s going to choose a black female SCOTUS member, while not saying out loud that any random black female judge might probably have been selected due to their identity bona fides.

Right, I had forgotten that was the practice in the US.

Not sure that she should have been elected county dog catcher let alone a judge.

Only some jurisdictions elect judges. FWIW

They’ll end up, after a lot of drama, with the same formula they use every time they have a trifecta: take away health care and food assistance from low income families and use the money to fund tax cuts for their donors.
