Teacher Abuses Student: Thread 1

A guy that owns a franchise that has ownership with Christian values, and it gets posted gleefully.
Perhaps it because his deeply flawed character is held to higher standard than your regular garden variety heathen.

We’re all held to the same standards. Some rise above the standards and some don’t. Seeing somebody try to rise above their own nature and failing should be a cause for sorrow, not humor.

Yeah, but in Louisiana, we have threesomes!
Shucks, some folks here would have paid for that...

Outside of the kind of illegal and abusive behaviour described above, we're not all held to the same "moral" standards.
Sex before marriage?
Contraception? (Some jurisdictions only, some exceptions may apply)
Same sex partnerships?
Feeling guilty about it afterwards?
I could go on, but a Roman Catholic Priest getting found with a bunch of condoms would certainly be more newsworthy than you or I getting caught as Johnny-come-lately.

I wasn’t an attempt at humour. Rather it was meant to be disparagingly judgemental and deservedly sarcastic.

So because you feel some Christians are judgmental, you’re going to be judgmental towards all of them. Nice.

Nice indeed. Straight out of Matthew 7:1-2.

You stopped short. Don't take the Bible out of context. Ever.
Now, let's look at what Jesus Said:
1.“Do not [a]judge, so that you will not be judged. 2 For in the way you judge, you will be judged; and [b]by your standard of measure, it will be measured to you. 3 Why do you look at the [c]speck that is in your brother’s eye, but do not notice the log that is in your own eye? 4 Or how [d]can you say to your brother, ‘Let me take the [e]speck out of your eye,’ and look, the log is in your own eye? 5 You hypocrite, first take the log out of your own eye, and then you will see clearly to take the [f]speck out of your brother’s eye!
Jesus is talking about hypocrites, of course.
But what did he say, the very next thing and almost in the same breath?
6 “Do not give what is holy to dogs, and do not throw your pearls before pigs, or they will trample them under their feet, and turn and tear you to pieces.
Now, my Biblical neophyte, how in the sugar are you going to determine who are dogs and swine, without some context and form of judgement?
Answer: You can't.
Advice...Don't wade in waters you know nothing about, but educate yourself, lest you appear ignorant.
So take Paul's advice in 2 Timothy 2:15
15 Be diligent to present yourself approved to God as a worker who [a]does not need to be ashamed, accurately handling the word of truth.
Urban Dictionary version? STFU, unless you have a glimmer of what you are talking about.

Not nice. In fact, not meant to be nice. I felt the same disdainfully sarcastic way when Jimmy Swaggart broke real bad back in the 1980s.
