I had never heard this tidbit.

Martha Stewart and Anthony Hopkins started dating after her divorce in 1990, and though everything was going great for a while, everything changed when she saw him in ‘The Silence of the Lambs'.

While playing a game of “Two Truths and a Lie” with Ellen DeGeneres she revealed that one of the truths was this option:

I dated Sir Anthony Hopkins but broke up with him because I couldn't stop thinking of him as Hannibal Lecter.

She then explained when she decided to break it off:

I have a big scary house in Maine that's way by itself on 100 acres in the forest and I couldn't even imagine taking Anthony Hopkins there. I couldn't, all I could think of was him eating, you know…

This just goes to show how good of an actor Sir Anthony is.
