Do you execute a 15 year-old for murder?

The way fights work is that you punch someone who is a douche, and then they get knocked out, and then nothing happens afterwards.

      Education is extremely important.

Thoughts and prayers for the victim in critical condition.

The prosecutor says she will try the perpetrator as adult depending on the condition of the victim. Why should the condition of the victim determines whether the perpetrator is an "adult"? What's the logic there? Either the perpetrator is an "adult" or she is not.

Why is it that the more heinous the crime, the more it is associated with "adulthood"? Is violence really associated more with maturity than with immaturity?

Perhaps trying the perpetrator as an adult in this case will make the victim and the community feel better, but as a legal principle, there needs to be a better framework for deciding when to try a minor as an adult.

It's no secret that gangs in Chicago use under-age accomplices to commit various crimes such as auto theft, carjacking, and more violent crimes. Getting the young 'bangers' to participate accomplishes, usually, lighter sentences and bestows 'cred' upon the young miscreant.

This is what comes of teaching hate and make no mistake - that's what black kids are being taught.

That's what many inner city black kids are taught. I wonder how much that changes as one goes up the economic ladder?

To whatever extent black kids are taught that the mainstream white collar culture does not welcome them, those teachings are psychologically abusive to the extent that they don’t align with the truth. And they don’t align with the truth.

Is it time for academic segregation in the public schools?

Hell yes. We had it when I was a kid and that's good enough!

Seriously though I think it helped.

                        Please love yourself.

The problem...When we do, we will definitely create academic wastelands, with guards instead of teachers. But I'm willing to do that, if we can turn some lives around. In this case, the needs of the few outweigh the paltry gains achievable by the inner city many.

It might be some motivation for the students assigned to the wasteland. If it isn't, they are probably in the right place.
