Maybe they're like meth. Was once told meth skips a generation. It gets real popular, kids see it wrecking people's bodies and don't do it. Next generation comes along, hasn't seen the consequences and it's cheap, so the cycle starts again...

You don't see that kind of mayhem with hallucinogens, which is good. Meth is another drug built to be addictive.

If you believe the conservative complaints about "them kids today" and how messed up they are, then outside of dosage details, I don't think you can make a case that the effects of psilocybin are anything but beneficial.

As far as I can see, fewer kids today are using drugs. When I grew up by the end of high school it was pretty much everybody, but most of it was casual and abandoned once adulthood set in. It does not seem to have the cachet it did in the early 70's, which may have to do with the proliferation of highly destructive drugs like opiates, cocaine and meth.

Kids today also have a greatly reduced social fabric. I think that's the biggest factor. They traded grass at the overlook for TikTok and depression/anxiety right in their rooms.
