Much like the current fishing expedition on Trump's tax returns, this is an ill wind that does not bode well for anybody. A justice department of any kind, should be as apolitical as possible.

I almost agree. The reason I voted against this lady in the primary,
I mean besides a general desire to perpetuate the white patriarchy,was her explicit promise to go after political enemies.Having said that, the NRA’s financial shenanigans have been so publicized by infighting and internecine lawsuits that to not investigate would be a political decision.

The NRA is a mess. LaPierre was in the top spot too long and did what most men do, became too full of himself.
But it's a matter for the members, not the NY AG.

No, they’ve crossed too many legal lines.
Take politics out of it altogether. If major donors were suing, say, the American Heart Association for fraud and misuse of funds, highlighting tens of millions of dollars of inappropriate payments, self-dealing, etc. any AG in the country who’s state it was in would investigate.
