      @Copper

It is said that Cadet Trump was deferred from the draft owing to one or more bone spurs on his heel(s) and subsequent student enrolments.

Truth be known however he was declared medically unfit because his school record at the Academy and presiding physicians determined he was thoroughly devoid of any moral character. Meaning that if placed in a combat situation, soldier Trump would put his unit in grave risk through an inability to follow orders owing to an unwarranted and narcissistic sense of entitlement as well as a cowardly refusal to be held accountable in the face of adversity. In addition to all that, he loved himself more than his country and his fellow soldiers. In short, a uniformed Trump would be a total waste of rations to his unit, company and regiment.

The bone spurs story, was just that- a story.

He received 4 student deferments and one medical deferment for bone spurs.

The (P )resident received 5 student deferments and one medical deferment for asthma as a teenager. Yet, he served as a lifeguard and played football - could have been an all-American, you know.

I've never seen that. Can you provide a link?

What are the policies that President Trump has vs. the others that you base your vote on? I am guessing that you have certain specific issues that overrule all others.

Actually no I can’t provide a link because I made it up just to give Copper the opportunity to react to a low hanging fruit of facetious sarcasm and call me out as an idiot. Which, of course he did in so many words:

                It is said

Yes, it is said by idiots who make up stupid childish stories

Perhaps I am one among idiots. Not that I care what Copper or any one else here thinks about my postings. Just my way of calling him out and telling him I think very little of his reactionary way of seeing the world around him. There I stand.

                Elbows up!

                  https://wapo.st/3wgXwWZ

WaPo has put together this nice article with graphics showing NATO member states' defense spending relative to the "2% of GDP" target, including trends for these countries over the last 10 years.

Among other things, there are these nugget:

Most of the countries that spent beyond the 2 percent mark either share a border with Russia or sit near the front lines of the Ukraine war.

(It’s worth noting that most of the big spenders have national laws or policies that require 2 percent defense spending in accordance with NATO’s goals.)

After Russia invaded Ukraine in February of that year, defense spending spiked in several countries.

As an old fighter pilot once said, " You go to war with the army you have".

That means you have what you have, when the ball drops. Sadly, several countries in Europe ain't been packing their share of the load, be it manpower, equipment or training.

The United States plans to significantly reduce the aircraft and warships that it makes available for NATO operations in Europe, according to two senior European officials, accelerating America’s effort to scale down the protection it has offered to European allies for eight decades.

The decision would limit NATO’s ability to launch long-range strikes and conduct surveillance. It was communicated to allies in early June in a written document, parts of which were reviewed by The New York Times. The European officials, who were briefed on the decision, spoke on the condition of anonymity to speak more freely about sensitive military plans.
