      OMGoodness…they developed it from scratch??? Lookup by PCP or appt type? Why? At least the VA had enough sense to pick existing software, even if it was Cerner. The integration issues alone would be staggering.

          How much would it have cost to use Epic or Cerner?

          My guess is less than $4.3B

              I never used Epic when I was working, but, on the patient side of it, it's pretty good.

              I should note that my former place transitioned from Corner to Epic about 6 months ago.

                I never used Epic when I was working, but, on the patient side of it, it's pretty good.

                I should note that my former place transitioned from Corner to Epic about 6 months ago.

                Went through an Epic install. That was ten years ago. Too many cubbyholes. Hope it's better now. One problem it did cure, was nurses ordering work for the doc and then all he did was sign the order. When the doc is inputting his own orders, it cuts down on fluff.

                Beaker, their LIS, was definitely not up to par, so we stayed with Sunquest (our old system). Maybe it's better now, too.
