Dark subject. The bombing of the cities exacted a terrible toll. While the counter to that was Germany’s attacks on London, etc., the German people did not know that.

The devastation of the German cities, and the deaths of civilians caused by Allied bombing, far, far exceeded that caused by German attacks on Britain.

Agreed. But they started it. It never had to happen.

Yes, and that's why so much of this blather about "proportionate response" is just that: blather.

There's a reason the term "sue for peace" is used.

Today Masters of the Air wrapped up with its 9th episode.

Very interesting series that got better and better throughout the episodes.

Apple TV+ also has a 1-hour documentary, "The Bloody 100th" which tells the story of Egan, Clevin and many others who survived WWII's bombing missions.

Very well done, and will demand a re-watch to catch the nuances of the characters which I missed in the early episodes.

They finished strong. A series you hate to see end.

Yup. I was really "so-so" for the first 3 or so. All the people looked alike and it was just one "horrible mission" after another. Then it found its stride.

Once they decided to focus on the remarkable stories of the main characters, it got to be so good and compelling.

And, like Band of Brothers, these are all stories of real men.

                      Cool that you have that.

They’ll end up, after a lot of drama, with the same formula they use every time they have a trifecta: take away health care and food assistance from low income families and use the money to fund tax cuts for their donors.
