US warned Iran of ISIS attack

That is quite interesting. Would be interesting to follow the communications and how it got from someone who knew in Iran to the US.

Watched a D-Day documentary last week. It included some of the double-spy stuff and the correct intelligence sent to the Germans by the Brits. They just gave them the actual landing date to late to do anything about it. They did that so they could protect their agent and keep his credibility solid gold with the Nazis, while still feeding them erroneous reports.
Even with the actual date in their hands, the Brits had to get the double agent to rattle the German's cage, because the Germans were trying to filter all the incoming intelligence, trying to decide what was correct and how much importance to place upon it.
I suspect any intelligence service is like that. What is real, what is not and what to do about it. The filtering of intelligence must be a very murky business.

In Canada’s case it’s the failure or, negligence of elected politicians and their political advisors to take action on the intelligence brought forward to them by the services gathering and analysing it. The present government in Ottawa is particularly negligent in this regard.
