      Interesting. Nunavut has surpassed Northwest Territory in mining production. They have gold and iron, while NWT has three diamond mines.

        Seems like a sensible move. The Provinces have considerably more self-government than Territories, which are governed much more from Ottawa.

            NWT also has oil and gas and what would amount to a huge USEPA Superfund site on the shores of Great Slave Lake in Yellowknife, is essentially an arsenic mine that at one time contained some gold.
