What do you expect from somebody named Emily Peck(er)?

She's got a pecker on her, alright.

But that aside, she wants to hang her hat on 2020? Everything was great until the whole world fell apart?

That would be as stupid as blaming Obama for the 2008 economic crisis. I'm sure nobody did that, right?

I also seem to recall somebody here once saying that whoever is in charge bears full responsibility for what happens on their watch. I actually didn't agree with that assessment, but what do I know?

          I was only joking

That’s a very facile defense for a flawed analysis. What happened in the US happened in pretty much the whole developed world

Yes, I know. Exactly the same as inflation increasing under Biden, and he's been blamed for that. You can't have it both ways.

Also, I wasn't defending the analysis. I said it was stupid.

Implicit in that statement by Axios is this: "Everything was great under Trump until the pandemic. Now that the pandemic's over (?), it should be great again, so he should be reelected."

                Right?

Not if you believe that everything that happened on his watch was his responsibility. Because then he's to blame for the pandemic too, and if he's re-elected we'll probably have another one.
