Has this ever happened to you?
My disc stem is stuck in the machine. Stuck, stuck, STUCK. Mr. Google suggested whacking it with a wooden spoon and three people said that worked. So far that has not worked for me. A Cuisinart guy said possibly the stem has fused to the motor shaft, in which case -- big paperweight.
Oh, woe is me-e-e!

Thanks anyway, but it's fixed. I whacked it with a hammer and it gave a little scream and came loose.
Kidding about the scream.

Too bad. It would have been more gratifying. I loved the Connecticut toll booths because they made a noise when you threw the coins at them that was somehow satisfying, like you hurt them.
Old IBM 3278 keyboards did the same thing. I loved them.

Cats, I can't tell you how many times the exact same thing has happened to me.

Sometimes that sound comes from the user.
Glad it all got resolved quickly, or relatively so.

Me too, Brenda. I don't know what I would do if I couldn't make my smoothies.

Cats, I recently burned up the black rubber gear on my mixer, the one with the little teeth. Broke about four teeth off, and the rest were in questionable condition. Furtunately, that part is replaceable. Also fortunately, hubby is handy.

Ach, how wretched are these First World problems!
