Surprised no one mentioned Ronin since we are referencing a lot of car chase movies.

For fun with car chases watch What's Up Doc (although I am concerned about the boy not liking The Holy Grail - I was 5th or 6th grade and fell in love with the movie just listening to the sound track).

Another favorite of mine was an old Clint Eastwood movie, Where Eagles Dare. Lots of cool guns and explosions.

This mostly passes the parents guide test, but: "Three people are shown being shot to death by Russian soldiers. Two men get into a brutal fight. Two people are brutally beaten to death." Mild to zero for sex/nudity, profanity and alcohol and drugs.
