Run, Run, Rudolph…

Everybody except @Jolly and @Mik can probably ignore this…
While I disagree with Mark Madden about Kenny Pickett, I do agree about how Rudolph was treated by the Steelers. His rookie year, Roethlisberger went down for the season. The kid came in and went 4-2 in his first 6 starts. Over those 6 games the kid had 2 games with a rating over 100, had 9 TDS to 3 INTS, and a 66% completion rate. 3 of those games were against top 5 pass defenses for the year.
Then came Cleveland… Pittsburgh came in to the game down 2 starting O-line and their #3WR. During the game they lost JuJu Smith-Schuster and James Conner in the first quarter. In the 2nd quarter they were reduced to having backup tightends and special teams guys taking snaps at WR, and Dionte Johnson had to show them where to line up. Then he was concussed on a targeted call on the first drive in the 3rd quarter. A guy named Tevin Jones had 4 receptions that night. Those were the only 4 receptions in his career. Mason threw 4 very understandable interceptions that day.
The Steeler’s line was weak before losing 2 starters… They were a turnstile this night. Rudolph was sacked 4 times and hit another 11. Then came the fight where Miles Garret ripped off Rudolph’s helmet then hit him over the head… Remember that Mason had been concussed a few weeks before against the Ravens…
I’d say that’s about the worst day any QB could dream of… Then 2 days later, Garrett accused Rudolph of using racist epithets… This causes the entire world to blow up… Mason has to give 2 full press conferences and several extra media interviews while trying to prep for the Bengals. The guy goes out there and goes 8-16 with an interception before getting pulled at half time.
The only really negative game Mason had was deluding a week that Tom Brady and Ben Roethlisberger would have had their asses kicked.
After Ben retired, it was supposed to be an open competition for QB1 between Rudolph, the free agent Trubisky and the Rookie Pickett. Rudolph was clearly the best in camp and preseason, but you could tell that Tomlin had some kind of man-crush on Trubisky. Mason has been screwed over by Tomlin over and over. I hope the kid goes out there and lights it up. That will open up a lot of eyes and ears in Pittsburgh and around the league regarding Tomlin.

I hope he doesn’t pick tomorrow to shine, but I see your point. He played well. I could never understand why they were even looking at Trubisky.
I’m almost tempted to say that I hope that he throws for 350 and 3 TDS, but the Bengals still win, but I can’t. We’re still technically in the playoff hunt…

I think it’s time for Tomlin to go.
Nobody answered my question earlier. The answer is 4. In 17 seasons, Tomlin has only one a playoff game in 4 different seasons. That’s with teams that included Troy Polamalu (HoF), Big Ben (Future HoF), Alan Faneca (HoF), Hines Ward (HoF Finalist), James Harrison (HoF Finalist), Antonio Brown (All Decade Team, would have been HoF and maybe even GOAT if he hadn’t gone insane), TJ Watt (DPOY and 2X Sack Leader), Minkah Fitzpatrick (All-Pro), Cameron Heyward (Perennial All Pro), and countless high quality players like Emmanuel Sanders, Ike Taylor, Levon Bell, Pouncey, Brett Keisel…

Speaking of QBs, haven’t seen anything about Browning’s drug test. I suspect it was routine and a big nothing, but the media sure milked it. Maybe we should drug test those guys.
The drug tests are supposed to be random. Let a player do something out of the ordinary good, and the piss boys show up.
Blake Gillikin hit an ungodly punt for the Saints a couple of years ago. 81 yards, with the bounce.
They tested him one or two days later.

Porter is a stud.

And Rowe and Miles Jack have been huge

Mason’s at 279 yards midway through the 3rd. 133.9 Passer rating, too.

The expansion of the practice squads and the veteran rules, have been good for a lot of older players. With the 17 game season, there's more injuries and more need for players that can get up to speed quickly.

Rudolph saves Christmas. And Pickens corked a whole lot of pie holes.
Yeah, but his attitude is still a problem. He has got to be kept on a short leash.

Lufin, I figured out what happened. MFR carelessly wore Rudolph earrings yesterday.
I took all her presents back.
She deserves that…
As much as I blame Tomlin for the Steelers being average since 2010, the truth is that it’s because Karla washed my Terrible Towels. It nearly led to divorce… Please don’t tell anyone.
