I know it's regional (hey, y'all don't build bonfires for Papa Noelle, either), but a lot more fireworks are bought and shot down here during Christmas season and New Year's eve, than around the Fourth of July.

Now, rum cakes get better as they sit. I had a boss years back, whose wife made the best rum cake you've ever had. She'd let that thing sit and pour a little more rum into it every so often. I ain't lyin', eat three pieces of Joyce's cake and you'd be above the legal limit to drive.
