Fetterman's growing on me
-
I wonder if his health issues made him decide to speak up about what he really believes? A major scare can push people to re-evaluate their lives.
-
An overwhelming majority of President Joe Biden's fellow Democrats in the Senate on Wednesday backed a statement reiterating U.S. support of a two-state solution to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.
The only two Democratic senators who did not sign onto the amendment were John Fetterman and Joe Manchin.
Fetterman has long supported a two-state solution, but he believed the measure should include language stipulating the destruction of Hamas as a precondition to peace, an aide said. -
Or maybe...Manchin has occupied a fairly unique place in closely divided Senate. It has given him a bit more power than he normally would have had. Maybe Fetterman or somebody on his staff came up with the idea of occupying that same political space, since Manchin is retiring.

A sensible policy position to take. Hamas must not be in any way a part of any future Palestinian identity or state.

I like the orange brick, though.

@LuFins-Dad you posted that at about 430 local time! What the hell are you doing up at that hour?

I’m at work. Had to meet the electrician.

Don’t know how he identifies, but based on the beard, beer belly, and hairy plumber’s cleavage, I will guess that you’re wrong.
-
On some long-running criticisms that are levied against Fetterman:
-
Fashion sense should not have been an important metric with which to judge an elected legislator anyway.
-
As for Fetterman's speech impairment, his campaign said it's going to be temporary and that his condition will improve. Time has proven that they told the truth on that matter. Move on, be glad that Pennsylvania has elected a good US Senator into the U.S. Congress.

You wear (Walmart) neckties.
Why?
Is it because you like wearing neckties, or the situation in which you find yourself would find it inappropriate to be without a necktie?
There's something to be said to accepting the norms of your institution and society.

"Told the truth" ≠ "Were right." They were hopeful that his speech would recover, and they were correct. To say that "they told the truth" is not quite accurate. If his speech had not improved, would you say that they lied? I wouldn't - I would say that they were wrong.

I'll withhold judgment. Though I agree with many of the positions he's taken in the last 4 months, I've not been following his legislative activity close enough to judge.
